Hall & Woodhouse launched their very popular Community Chest grant providing project on 1st March in one of their own pubs, The Grasshopper in Poole.
Various Mayors, Chairmen and business people from the local area were invited to hear more about the scheme which has been going since 2002 and in that time has given away over £500,000!
We were given a good history of Hall & Woodhouse and how some specific pubs raise money for charity themselves outside of this scheme.
After the talk we were given samples of all of the food from the menu (or it seemed like all of it – there was so much food)! And of course they were offering various beers for tasting too (hhmm shame I don’t like beer).
The whole point of the session was the raise awareness of this fabulous scheme so that worthwhile organisations can come forward and apply for a grant – anything from £300 to £3,000. So if you know of an organisation that you think may be able to benefit, do get them to take a look. You can find out everything you need to know here.
