I was invited along to the Royal British Legion’s ‘open evening’ last Thursday.  They were opening their doors to non members to show what a great social place it is and what they have to offer.  We had a little talk about the history of the building itself and how the club runs.

It is no longer necessary to have an association with the forces – pretty much everyone is welcome to join.

They have all sorts of events throughout the week, including a regular quiz night and meat draw!  They’re shortly getting a new caterer in which promises to add a variety of interesting food to the offering.  I’m reliably advised that the beer is only £3 a pint (which I’m sure would outweigh the membership costs)!!  I don’t drink beer but I think I’m going to join up just because it has such a great community feel about it (as so many places do in Wimborne Minster)!
