Another beautiful day for the Swanage Civic Service so I dressed accordingly.  I do think it’s a benefit being able to wear summer dresses, versus the suit, shirt and tie for the men!  I think the silver chain went well with the attire (and that’s the main thing)!

This time we met just to the side of St Mary’s church and walked across the path to start the service.  The service in Swanage is led by the church, rather than in some towns where the Town or Parish Council lead and manage the service, speakers etc.  Learn something new at each event!

The church choir was spectacular!

It was hot in church but afterwards, refreshments were served on the lawn with the benefit of having a band playing for us!  I’m starting to recognise faces of other Mayor’s, Chairman and deputies now (I just need to start putting more names against them)!

After a chat with Mike the Mayor of Swanage, we headed off for what wasn’t such a bad drive at tea time on a Sunday coming back towards Poole and Bournemouth (no ferry for me)!
